Symptoms of a Yeast Infection from Candida Albicans

A yeast infection is an infection that is caused by a fungus, rather than bacteria. The most common fungus to cause a yeast infection is Candida albicans. This is a fungus that will only cause an infection when the body’s immune system is weak and unable to fight the fungus. There are several places on the body where a yeast infection from Candida albicans can occur. One of the most common places for a yeast infection is the vaginal tract in women. The symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection are very unspecific and include burning, itching and soreness. Many women will also have a white discharge that has a curd like appearance. It is also possible for a woman to experience no symptoms.
